Descendants of Johnson Ellis, who emigrated from England around the the turn of the 19th century. He was a baptist preacher. He married an Indian descendant by the name of Susan Cook, I do not know of what tribe. She is described as a refined woman from a friendly and peacable tribe.Their descendants are from Alabama and Texas, from the mid 1800's to present.
They had five children, Susan, Dollie, Ann, Thomas Shadrick, and John Henry. Thomas S. Ellis married Elizabeth Jane Brewer. They were married around 1850 in Northwest Alabama, about 25 miles east of Columbus, Miss.
I would appreciate any information about Johnson Ellis or his parents, grandparents, his wife's parents, Etc.
Thomas Shadrick and his wife Jane Brewer, and their children settled in East Texas in what is now Chandler and Edom area in the mid 1800's. Their children's names are William Franklin (Mank), Wilson Francis (Mant), Sarah Dedernia, Nancy Evalina, Susan Armendia,Malkiga Asberry, John Thomas, Andrew Jackson, Alvah Sylvador,Emma Viola, and George Ridgle.
