McPherson/Terry/Spires/Goodrum/Eagle Family

We are researching Alexander McPherson b: 1797 in Virginia and his wife, Serena Allen Johnson b: 1800 in Tennessee who migrated from Roane and Rhea county Tennessee into Saline Co., Arkansas in 1850. One of their sons Wm. Granville McPherson left Arkansas in the early 1860's and went into Indian Territory, OK, there he married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lacy of Choctaw Nation IT. After her death he married Lydia Starr Hunter. Then in 1878 he removed to Blanco, TX and married Mary Kate Johnson Rountree.
We are also researching the Spires/Spiars/Spiers from Scott Co., Mississippi who settled in Damascus, Van Buren Co., AR about 1870. Our other research is on the Goodrum and Eagle familes of Lonoke, AR., and the Terry, Gardner, Bohanan families of Durant and Hugo Oklahoma. We both feel very blessed to have the rich Indian heritage that we have.
The McPherson families from Oklahoma and Texas have been having family reunions the first week-end of June at Lake Texoma, Oklahoma Lodge since the mid 1970's, and they are still on-going.
We want to thank all that have contributed information to our families research, especially (Joe and Rita Brewer, Lyn Swaim Robinson, Barbara Swaim, Sherryl Miller, Shirley Green and Mack Adair). Without their sharing we would not have come this far.
