* The Thomas McQuaid Family Home Page*

Updated September 6, 2000

I have researched my family tree of the Thomas McQuaid family. The family story told was that there were three McQuaid brothers that came to the USA in 1848 from Limerick County, Ireland. John and Thomas stayed in Massachusetts temporarily, then moved on to the Kalamazoo, MI area where John died in 1860. John married a woman named Catherine and they had one child, a daughter - Mary McQuaid. She married Richard Courtney from Michigan. Thomas too married a Catherine in Michigan and had a daughter Ellen, and then moved on to Champaign County, Illinois in 1856. The family tree still resides there. I do not know who the third brother was, but he supposedly stayed in Buffalo, New York. If anyone knows anything about John and Catherine McQuaid from Kalamazoo, Michigan from the mid to late1800's, or anything about Richard and Mary Courtney or their children, please contact me. Or if you have concluded your family tree and you know something about the third brother, please contact me.
