I am currently researching the McQueary family - the descendants of William and Nancy (Shepherd) McQueary of Pulaski County, Kentucky. Along with that, I am also researching my mother's family of Allison. Anyone knowing anything about William Henry Allison, Jr. and his wife Serena Loiuse Riell, please e-mail me.

I have one ancestor I am very puzzled about - My great-great grandfather was Edward Hunter born in Perna, Indiana, and a veteran of the Civil War. My grandmother spoke very highly of him. His wife was named Marguerite Lissenberger and my grandmother was named after her. I have been unable to locate anyone by this name. My great-grandfather was born in Iowa City, Iowa, in 1874 (George Edward Hunter). The name is unusual enought that it should be easy to trace....

I have a couple of other family members that have intrigued me - Anna Marie Barclay, who was married to Henry Edward Riell and Anne Hoffman who was married to Peter Allison probably sometime in 1820 in New York. Also, a Miss Courtney who married an Edward Harris in England. Their daughter, Elizabeth Sarah Courtney Harris, was born in 1817 probably in Gloucestershire, Stroud, England and died in 1885. I think she is the daughter of the Earl of Devon, but have yet to find the exact link. Miss Courtney supposedly ran off with a sea captain (Harris) and was disowned by the family.
