| My ancestors helped settle East Texas. They are the MCCLENDONS, BURRIS', HAVARDS, COOKS, and WEAVERS on my mother's side. They are the CRAWFORDS, REYNOLDS, MCADAMS, and BARLEYS on my father's side. All of them came to the area that would be Angelina County, Texas, before Texas was a state. Many were here before Texas was a Republic and lived under Mexican rule. They came from Mississippi, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Tennessee. They came for a new life with plenty of land and help start a new country. I also research my husband's family from North Carolina. They are the MCRAES, CREPPS, LEDBETTERS, and MCLENDONS. I feel someday I will connect his MCLENDONS to my MCCLENDONS.I do not have my families with World Family Tree or on-line with Family Tree Maker. I have 800 names in my trees and, as soon as I finish rechecking the information, I will post. Please feel free to contact me about any East Texas family. It seems I am related to them all and I love to find connections. |
