1. CHARLIE¹ BUIE was born 1812 in NC, and died in NC. He married FLORAH MCPHERSON in NC. She was born 1835 in NC, and died in NC.

Notes for CHARLIE BUIE:
The Charlie Buie Family was born and reared in the Philadelphus Community in Robeson County North Carolina. They were the slaves of Daniel, Archie, Dunk, and Make Buie families dating back to the early 1700's.
Charlie married Flora McPherson and they had ten children. According to the 1880 census, Charles Buie and his family lived in Burnt Swamp Township, Robeson County, North Carolina in 1880. Another child , a four month old son, named Colin is shown in the 1880 census but it is assumed that he did not survive beyond childhood. Most of their children became farmers and turpentine workers. But even in those early days, they saw the need for education. Under the direction of Dr. Robert Forbes and Dr. John Redaford, many completed high school and became teachers. 	vii.	JAMES ROBERT (JIMMY) BUIE, b. 1867.
4.	viii.	BETSY BUIE, b. September 1871, NC; d. NC.
	ix.	SARA ELIZA BUIE, b. February 1876.

Notes for SARA ELIZA BUIE:
The 1900 census shows Sara Eliza Buie living in the household of her eldest sister, Nancy, who married Clay Patterson in 1878.
