Louis Lindy McReynolds was b. Aug. 27, 1927 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, LA. to Theodore Emerald McReynolds and Hazel Nancy Jane Fagg. Dad was deceased on Feb. 13, 2001 in Dallas, TX. Theodore Emerald McReynolds was born in 1901 in Morrilton, Conway Co., Ark. to Henry Burton McReynolds and Georgia Green. Theodore died on June 4, 1955 in Chicago, Ill. Henry Burton McReynolds was born in 1868 probably in Perry, Co., Ark. the son of John D. McReynolds and Fanny (unknown surname) from S.C. John D. McReynolds served the CSA from the state of Arkansas in Co., B & I, of the 1st Arkansas Mounted Rifles. John D. McReynolds was born to Thomas James McReynolds and Margaret Dockery in Lafayett Twp. Crawford Co., Ark in 1844.


Martha Louise Dowden was the daughter of William Elisha Dowden and Elizabeth Rivers Presley. Mom was born in Gandy, Sabine Parish, LA on Aug. 4, 1929. She was deceased on Oct. 1, 2001 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, LA. Elizabeth Rivers Presley, was the daughter of Andrew Lambreth Presley b. 1876 at Fort Jesup, La. and Miram Hortense Harrell. William Elisha Dowden was born in 1899 in Kisatchie, Natchitoches Parish, La. He was the Post Master of Gandy Post Office and the Superintendent of Schools there. He retired from the United States Postal Service. Pa's father was Francis Asberry Dowden and his mother was Elizabeth Eglintine Self the daughter of Samuel Elisha Self and Sophronia LaDusky Phifer. Samuel was the son of David Washington Self and Elizabeth Letitia Sibley.


David Washington Self joined the Confederate Army as Captain and later earned the rank of Major. He served in Company 'B' 17th Louisiana Infantry Regiment, Field & Staff. The company, from Sabine Parish Louisiana, was known as the Sabine Rebels. He was present for muster call on Sept 30, 1861. March and April 1862 absent because of a wound recieved near Vicksburg, Miss. at a place called Shilo, TN. He was listed on a federal report of killed, wounded and missing for 6th & 7th of April 1862. David Washington Self received a field commission to Major May 21, 1862. On July 4, 1863 he was listed on a roll for prisoners of war captured at the Battle of Vicksburg, Miss. David Wahsington Self was paroled in Natchitoches, Natchitoches Parish, LA in 1865.
