Probably settled in Arkansas. He saw action in the Civil War and while in service, he became ill and died. He is buried at Fort Smith, Arkansas. Perhaps he was a Baptist Minister and/or a teacher before his death.

Ezra Fawcette11 Darby (Daniel10, Jedediah Owen9, Samuel D.8, Samuel7, William6, William5, John Derby (Darby)4 (Derbyshire), Christopher3 Derby, Nicholas2, Robert1) was born October 30, 1834 in Vermilion Illinois, and died February 20, 1925 in Springfield, Missouri. He married Martha Ann Eliza Andrews April 14, 1859, daughter of Mark Andrews and Martha Griggs. She was born January 29, 1836 in Deinwiddie County, Virgiania, and died September 26, 1914.

Notes for Ezra Fawcette Darby:
Came to Missouri with his parents at the age of 4 years, and they settled near Urbana. In 1836, Ezra enlisted in the Federal Army at Urbana and was assigned to Company A, 18th Iowa Volunteer Infantry under the command of Captain Stonaker. The regiment was sent to Arkansas, the first stop being Fort Smith. Ezra was in campaigns in Arkansas in 1864, taking part in a number of skirmishes. In May of 1865, he was ordered from his regiment to the U. S. Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he served as Ward Master. Following the war, he returned to Missouri and he and his wife farmed and raised nursery stock near Urbana, until they retired and moved to Springfield in 1938. As age and failing health overtook them, they removed to Fort Scott, Kansas, to live with their daughter, Mrs. Alice Pardue. Martha Ann died their and following her death, Ezra returned to Springfield, making his home with his son, William. He died there and is buried with Martha Ann at the Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, in a family plot which also includes his son Robert and wife, and their son, Winifred, and Ezra's unmarried sister, Ruami.

He served in the Union Army during the Civil War and was in the battle of Gettysburg; taken prisoner, he escaped by crawling and hiding until he reached Union lines. He was wounded and the exposure wrecked his health.
