2. DAVID² MCSWAIN (ELIZABETH¹) was born 1734 in Possibly Isle of Skye, Scotland?, and died Abt. 1805 in Montgomery Co. North Carolina?. He married (1) HANNAH JONES Abt. 1755 in Baltimore Co. Maryland, daughter of JONATHAN JONES and MARTHA FARMER. She was born January 10, 1738/39 in Baltimore Co. Maryland, and died Bet. 1773 - 1780 in North Carolina. He married (2) PRISCILLA Abt. 1780 in North Carolina?. She died in North Carolina.

Notes for DAVID MCSWAIN:
The first document we have of DAVID is a Baltimore Co. MD. indenture record dated September 26, 1741, in which DAVID, age 7yrs. 6mos., is bound out by his Mother Elizabeth, to Thomas and Rosa Phelps/Felps of Baltimore Co. MD., until he (DAVID) is 21yrs. of age. ( Baltimore Co. MD. Liber B, no. A, 1741-1742.)

Upon his death in 1758, Thomas Phelps/Felps, in his Will, probated April 25, 1758, left DAVID the estate he (DAVID) was living on called Arabia Petria, in Baltimore Co. MD. (Maryland Will Book Vol. 30, pg. 483, 1750-1760.)

From these and other records, it's quite obvious that Thomas Phelps/Felps and DAVID had a close, father/son relationship, and very likely DAVID named his first born son, Thomas, after Thomas Phelps/Felps.
