This is the family tree of the McSheaffrey Clan from Kirkintilloch. All of the information has been double checked and I am satisfied that it is all correct. The Langs and Sinclair all came from the Kilsyth area and appear to have been miners and farm workers. The McSheaffreys, McAloons and Doherty's all appear to have been itinerant farm labourers, who came to Scotland to escape the Famine in Ireland

Also included in this Home Page is the family tree of my second wife, Anne Christie Young. Again, I have double checked all the information, and am satisfied that it is all correct. There is afamily rumour that there is a link to Gilbert Burns, Rabbie's brother, but although I can find a Henry Burns, born in 1830 in MidLothian, where Gilbert moved to from Ayrshire, I cannot find details of his father. This maybe because Gilbert had 11 legitimate children and at least 6 illegitimate children, including a Henry. One of them could be the father of Henry, but as I say I cannot find the missing link
