It has been put forth by other researchers that three brothers John, Jacob, and Benjamin McVey (MeVey, McVegh, Mc Vey) came to America from Ulster settling in Cecil County, Maryland in the 1740s. This page provides information on all three lines.

There is circumstantial evidence that John and Benjamin were brothers. However, there is no concrete evidence linking the three as brothers or that there origins were from Ulster and not Scotland. The research continues!

Note: Others did the research on the first two generations of McVeys and they have come up with the same names and dates. I have been able to confirm some of their research.
