I am Cheryl K. McWilliams, b. 1944 in Snyder, TX. My parents are James Albert Dove and Lois Shirley (Thompson) Dove. I have one brother, Donnie Max Dove, b. 1942 in Snyder, TX and currently lives in Midland, TX. I am researching the DOVE line of our family. I'm searching for information on my great grandparents--Caleb N. and Mary Alcansy (Stacy) Dove. He was believed to have been born in Cabarrus County, NC. She was b. in 1852 in MS. They had three sons--Matthew C. Dove, b. 1874 in MS, Dolpho Lee Dove, b. 1888 in AR (my grandfather) and Jim Dove, b. 1890 in AR. I have found Caleb N. Dove in the 1790, Mecklenburg, NC census, 1810 NC, Cabarrus County Census, 1830 NC,Cabarrus County Census. He's also listed in the 1860 Census Index US Selected States/Counties, FTM CD #318. I would appreciate any information on him in later census'--1870, 1880 or 1900. I have information on Matthew Dove's family, but am searching for Caleb Dove's family. Will share the information that I have.
