Jane ARCHER (daughter of Thomas ARCHER and Jane ARCHER) was born 1847 in Aspenden , Buntingford , Hertfordshire , England., and died date unknown. She married (1) Christopher PERRY. She married (2) William Henry SMITH on 02 Feb 1871 in St Mathews Church , Islington, London , UK., son of George SMITH and Jane GROUT.

Notes for Jane ARCHER:
It is noted that there is an area of Buntingford known as Archers Field.
The Marriage certificate shows Jane's father as ' Jane Archer - Butcher '.
I am not sure if this is an error , or that her mothers name was entered as her father was dead. Jane Archer Snr does seem to be a widow in 1871 , but she is described as the widow of a master baker in the Census. The fact that George Smith was also a baker , does seem to make possible, but again it could be an error. However , perhaps Jane Archer herself was a butcher ! It seems more likely that the census is incorrect and that baker was entered instead of butcher.
In any event , William Henry Smith died between 1881 and 1891 , as Jane remarried and became Jane Perry. This is the name she signed as witness to her daughter Mabel Emily's marriage. In the earliest census Jane is not mentioned , but an Anna J Archer , of the same age is noted. I have taken this to be Anna Jane , and that the Anna has been dropped in later years.
