GENERAL EVERARD⁹ MEADE (DAVID⁸, ANDREW⁷, JOHN⁶, JOHN⁵, JOHN⁴, JOHN³ MEAGH, WILLIAM², JOHN¹ MIAGH)¹ was born October 01, 1748 in Nansemond, VA, and died September 1802 in The Hermitage, Amelia County, VA¹. He married (1) MARY THORNTON September 19, 1766, daughter of JOHN THORNTON. She was born 1748, and died Bet. 1778 - 1788 in The Hermitage, Amelia County, VA. He married (2) MARY EGGLESTON WARD February 15, 1788, daughter of JOSEPH EGGLESTON and JUDITH SEGAR.

**Benjamin L. Meade=Benjamin Lincoln Meade

In 1776 enlisted and reached rank of Major in the Revolutionary War. Everard Meade served as an Aid-de-Camp to General Benjamin Lincoln, was with him at the surrender of Charleston, SC, and at the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown.
