Peter Cromartie was born June 18, 1787 in Bladen Co, North Carolina, and died March 18, 1864 in Bladen Co, North Carolina. He married Sarah "Sally" Boone Sessions Abt. January, daughter of Richard Sessions and Ester Boone. She was born 1789, and died December 31, 1863 in Bladen Co, North Carolina.

p. 62-Died at his residence in Bladen Co., on Friday evening. Mr. Peter Cromartie in the 77th year of his age. He was a member of the South River Presbyterian Church and ordained an Elder on November 9, 1834, by Rev. William Brobston and occupied at this position until his death. His wife that shared his joys and divided his sorrows through a long life preceeded him to the grave only a few weeks

In Bladen Co. on 13 March, Peter Cromartie, age 77 yrs.; elder South River Chur h. His wife died few weeks earlier; leaves children.
