The MEES came to America from England in 1871. Moved to Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Washington, and California. Many of this MEE line settled in Montana. Families associated with this group are SHEELEY, JENSEN, DEPUTY, STEWART and MARCHAM
The MILLARDS date back to 1775 in Berlin, New York then to Allegany Co, NY; Sauk, LaCrosse,and Marathon Co.,Wisconsin; Winnebago & Ogle County, Illinois (1850), and California, by train around 1900. Families associated with this line are RUSSELL, FISK, TOWNE, CALVERT, MILLER, SCOGGIN. RUSSELLS and TOWNES come from Salem Village, MA in the 1600s.
The MALLARDS come from Vermont(1807) to Monmouth Co. New Jersey, to Jackson Co.,Iowa to San Joaquin Co., CA overland in 1863, settling near Stockton, CA. Other families--HERBERT, OSBORNE, MILLER, LAVAGNINO.
Bernhard MEYER came from Gruppenbuhren near Bremen, Germany 1858 to California over the Isthmus of Panama to the Gold Country as a 17 year old. Other families--CAMPBELL, JOHNSON, MENKENS
The BURRILLS came from Penrith, England to RI to MA to IL to OR/WA (1880). They shipwrecked in about 1819 off Rhode Island entering the New World with only the clothes on their backs. Other families--FRANCIS, BULLOCK, FULLER, STEWART, KNIGHT, CADWALLADER.
Our GANNS came west in 1854 from MO, and before that TN. Names associated with GANN are BROYLES, HARLESS, CRISTLER, FLEISCHMANN
Albert ABBEY came west in about 1852 from MI and before that NY and married Lavina GANN in 1855. Other family PARKER ?
Our earliest PAYTON was probably Leroy, born in NC or KY about 1780. The family moved IN and settled around Morgan, Monroe and Greene Counties. Our PAYTONS came West to Southern California during the Great Depression. Other families--FOXWORTHY, DOW, RILEY, EASTER, HENDRICKS, WORLEY.
LAFFOONS settled first in Virginia. My first LAFFOON is Matthew LAFFOON, Sr. b. about 1730. From Virginia our line moved to Surry Co., NC and then to IN for several generations, moving to California in the 1930s. Other families associated with this line are GILLESPIE/GALASPY, EASTER, MACINTOSH, DILL, BUSKIRK.
