| I have been researching the Meerwarth last name for the last two years. I have discovered many relatives in the Baden-Wurtemburg area in Germany as well as relatives in Easton, PA and in Eagle Bridge, NY. I have made contact with many of these reltives and they have provided much of my information. With their help, I have gone back to Hans Jakob Meerwarth born in Menzingen, Germany in 1664. I am still looking to go further back and to widen my family tree. The relatives that moved to Easton, Pa had their name changed to Merwarth with one "e". I have been able to link them up to a Sebastian Meerwarth that emigrated to the U.S. in 1832 and settled in Easton, PA. I am also looking to add the Meerwarth family that lives in Eagle Bridge, NY to the family tree. I know that they emigrated to the Unites States in the 1860's but I have been unable to find their relatives in Germany. They came from the Schorndorf area in Germany. If anybody has information about the Meerwarth/Merwarth family, please send me a note. |
