The Ralph D. Megee Family Home Page

My name is Ralph Davidson Megee III (called Dave). I am a direct descendant of John Megee (b: 1740, d: 1813) of Indian River Hundred, Sussex County, Delaware. Caleb Rodney Megee, my first cousin twice removed, published a comprehensive family history of the Megee Family in 1963 presenting details of the seven generations since John.In summary: 1. John Megee (b: 1740, d: 1813); Ann Megee (d: 1789) 2. William Megee (b: 1775, d: 1837); Sarah Ennis (b: abt 1790, d: 1820) 3. Moses Megee (b: 1819, d: 1888); Mary Salmans (b: 1831, d: 1891) 4. William Henry Megee (b: 1848, d: 1909); Louella Young (b: 1854, d: 1932) 5. Ralph Davidson Megee (b: 1885, d: 1936); Anna Wiltbank (b: 1890, d: 1908) 6. Ralph Davidson Megee, Jr. (b: 1908, d: 1990); Mildred Tuckey (b: 1905) 7. Ralph Davidson Megee III (b: 1942). I have some evidence that John Megee came from what is now Eastern Maryland and is the son of Peter Megee (b: 1711, d: 1766) and the grandson of John Magee (d: 1729). It is likely that the grandfather settled in Somerset County, MD, with his father George after immigrating from Ireland or Scotland. Also, it was reported that several members of these families left Delaware following the Revolutionary War to settle in Georgia and the West. I would very much like to correspond with anyone who has information related to this Megee Family tree and exchange information to determine if our family trees are somehow related.
