The earliest record of a Morgan in Virginia Colony was in Northumberland Co. May 1637 Patent Morgan, William grantee. 100 acres upon the narrows of the Back River. Note "Alias Brookes"( LOP No. 1, p. 426)
18 Sep 1636 Patent William Morgan 350 acres small island in Chickahominy River in right of his now wife Margarett Morgan, late widow to Richard Sanders LOP #1 p. 385
21 August 1637 Patent to Humphry England, grantee. 150 acres up Chickahominy River, being a neck of land called the red bank pointing to an Island belonging to William Morgan.
20 May 1638 Patent to William Morgan for 600 acres lying in Chickahominy River within a half a mile of the head of the second creek belowe the gulf upon the east side of the said river. On Oct 1643 the patent was removed and 216 acres added to it for said Morgan.
28 July 1638 Patent William Morgan 150 acs being a small island in Chickahominy River lying upon Pyne point done the river LOP #1 p.
26 Oct 1643 Patent William Morgan 816 acres on the east side of Chickahominy River upon the head of Morganís Creek.
