The Doss name is important because it is Doss who carved the handmade wooden sign in the Cedar Creek cemetery that tells of the Norris and Doss family buried there. It is significant because Thomas Bell, the son of James and Margaret Grimes Bell married a Norris. Presumably he may have been buried there also, tombstones also long missing.
Of significance is that on the same census, the very next family listed is that of George W Grimes, the brother of Margaret Grimes Bell and the uncle of Thomas Bell.
