David W. Meigel's Family Tree

This effort to capture the tracings of my lineage began in the late 1980's and was further encouraged by the efforts my father made in collecting family photographs and memoirs. Begun as more a curiosity to know who the other members of my family were, I have continually kept faith that someday I would be able to continue discovering ancestors and relatives on both sides of my family.

Sadly, I currently have no heirs to carry on our branch of the Meigel surname into the future, so the efforts I give here are more for the edification of my relations, than my progeny. As someone once told me; "When people look at family trees, they pay more attention to the trunk, than they do the end of the individual branches". It's sad, but true. So be it.

To my relatives who may use this information, I salute you - and encourage you to keep the flame alive in tracing your family roots, so that you, your children, and your children's children will know and want to learn the rich history of those who came before and contributed to who they are.
