The Rita Meistrell Family HomepageUpdated November 21, 2008 | RitaMeistrell [email protected] |
Welcome to my homepage.I have been researching my (and my husband's) ancestors for 25 years. This is my attempt to share with you that information.I have only posted information on people born approximately before 1930. In 1980 I privately published a small book on the Meistrell family.More recently (1999), I privately published a 258 page book on my Sullivan ancestors- "The James Sullivan Family, Emigrants of Lisready Cripps, Loughill, County Limerick".I hope eventually to have much of that information posted here.In the summer of 2001, I compiled records into a book that had been gathered in my mother's family -the Safarik's. In the background, I'm always looking for more on Carters from Jackson Co., Tennessee and Franks who ended up in Indian Territory (Oklahoma) in the 1890s. Reports included: ----- Sullivan- Family, Friends and Neighbors: While researching the Sullivans in Ireland and Canada, I generated a database on many of the families living nearby in hopes of finding a relationship. This database is listed here. Please use this information as a guide only. Many of these names came from extractions from church records and they represent MY interpretation of the names.I recommend everyone who thinks they have found an ancestor, to check the original data.I will gladly supply the source of information if you contact me. ----- The Sullivan family who lived in County Limerick and emigrated to Lanark Co., Ontario, Canada in 1823 and later migrated to the Red River Valley of Minnesota and North Dakota. ----- The Marshall Family. This family starts with Daniel Marshall and Rachel Greeley because their forebearers have been well documented on other pages. Books not posted: The Meistrell Family - originally printed in 1980 with some updates. The Meistrells were from Sankt Wendel, Germany. They originally emigrated to Missouri and utltimately settled in Cooper County, MO and Rooks County, KS.So far, every Meistrell contacted has been related to the Meistrells of Sankt Wendel. The History of the Safariks - I cannot take credit for writing this book. Most of the information was gathered by my grandparents (John and Anna Safarik) and my mother Bernice.I have included a narrative written by my grandfather in 1951 about the family's arrival in Nebraska as well as notes from my grandmother.
