This Family Page relates to the family of the William MELLICHAMP line.William Mellichamp came into the US at Charleston, SC, from France via England in the early 1700's.Several of us who have researched this line feel that while William came to Charleston in the early 1700's, he later returned to England and then came back to Georgia and there may be an entirely different line in Georgia.
About 20 years ago, David S. Mellichamp started having the families of his two brothers, and all of their children's families join him in Columbia for a reunion once each year, especially so that the younger children could get to know more of their cousins and other members of their family.Since the family was scattered from one end of the state to the other, this became one time each year that we could all get together.Several years later,Ed Mellichamp, from Charleston, heard about the annual reunion and started joining us.
