McDermotts of York County, PA

The McDermott families of Peachbottom Township, York County,PA consisted of brothers Patrick, Constantine, Hugh and Michael. There was also a sister Margaret McDermott Gilday. They were adults when they arrived in the US from County Donegal, Ireland about 1840 to 1852. Only Patrick and Margaret were married in Ireland. All lived briefly in Lancaster County, PA before moving to York. Most of their offspring moved to Philadelphia about1900.
