My family tree research is ongoing but difficult because to so many lost records were lost in World War II in Europe. Most records come from LDS records obtained in Poland. Translating and deciphering the old polish records that were written in Russian and Polish script has proven extremely difficult. I have learned that some of my ancestors my have changed the family name from Moritz to Merwitz when they moved from Austria to Poland. A possible reason given to me were religious persecution.
