Our branch of the great Nathaniel Merrill Family Tree sprouted in Newbury, Massachusetts; grew a little in Hartford County (Litchfield Township) Connecticut; then really took root here in Bradford County (Litchfield Township) Pennsylvania. Solomon and Eleazer Merrill were two of the first settlers to this area, arriving approximately 1803. They farmed the land (bounty land due their father, Eleazer Sr.) married and had several children. From that tight family unit sprouts several other family units. This site contains our direct branches of the John Elijah Merrill and Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Johnston line. Much more historical "Merrill" data is also incorporated into this site including notes, comments, etc. These descendants have an annual reunion during the month of June at Round Top Park, Athens, PA.
