The names that I am researching are: MERLIN, BUCHANAN, McNAMARA, O'BRIEN, HANLEY, & HAYES.
The Merlin branch is from Nova Scotia and Massachusetts. I would welcome feedback from any Merlin. It is not a common name and there could be connections. I have information about the Merlins and would certainly share it with those interested.

The Buchanan branch is from Scotland, Ireland, New Brunswick, and Massachusetts. They arrived in Canada around 1820 and later, some of them moved to the Boston area in the 1870's.

The McNamara branch came from Ireland, Conneticut, & Massachusetts. The first arrived in Newtown, CT around 1870. Near the turn of the 19th century they moved up to the Boston area.

The O'Brien family came from Ireland and settled in Holliston, MA somewhere around 1860. For the most part, they have remained in the Massachusetts area.

Both the Hanley's and Hayes' came from Ireland and settled in the Boston area. The Hayes coming from County Kerry. These two families remained in the Boston area.

I am always looking for good contacts. If you have a query or might have something to add, please e-mail me. As I said, I would like to hear from any Merlins. Also check out my website @ www.geocities.com/Hearland/Flats/7217/Merlin.html It contains a little more in depth info.
