Arthur Davis was born about 1755, as thought, in North Carolina, oldest son of John Christopher and Mary Davis of Anson Co., NC.. The elder Davis died testate in Anson County in 1786, and his will probated there April 06, 1786, devised his estate to his wife and sons, Arthur, Thomas, Lewis and John Davis, and four daughters. Arthur and Lewis Davis subsequently became residents of Washington County, Georgia, in the latter 1790's, when the government was giving land grants to revolutionary soldiers for their services in the revolution. Arthur married Mary Vick, also of Anson County.
Arthur Davis the son of Christopher Davis who married Mary Vick died in Montgomery County, Georgia. He is buried in an unmarked grave in Lothair, Georgia. __________ He went to South Carolina during the Revolutionary War. He and his brother Isham were soldiers in Frances Marion's "Swamp Fox".
