Many of these family members settled in the foothills of California along Highway 49. Settling in Amador and ElDorado counties and in later years moving toward the Sacramento Valley areas.

I am looking for additional information on the Swedish leg of the family of Nels Nelson who married Emma Peterson, both being from the Stockholm area of Sweden b.1800's. His son Nels Hanson was b.1845, his wife Ellen Peterson b.1843, both from the Stockholm area. He came to U.S. in late 1870's and she came over in 1880 with 4 of her 6 children.
