The Old Sod House

My sister was the lucky one who was born in the old sod house in Clearlake, Beaver County, Oklahoma, daughter of Eva Lucile Farrell Bingham and John Franklin Bingham. She was born a BINGHAM, my brother, Giles Anthony Jones, and I, Karen Lucile Walzel, were born JONES and our step-brother and step-sister were born WALZEL. We have rather an interesting family history that spans dance hall girls to Sunday school teachers; from Sheriffs to felons; and from 4th grade educations to college degrees. Pretty normal for an American family.

Between the FARRELL/FERRELL, FELTS, DEATHERAGE, GIBBONS, HENSON, FIELDS, GOSWICK, HAPPY, HENSON, SLACK, UPTON, GLASCOW, etc., we covered the prairie lands and all points east and west. They went where there was cheap land and hope. They earned their land by their blood and their sweat and some are still farming.
