I started researching my family history about 5 years ago, and since that time I have found that most if not all of my maternal side come from around the Stroud area of Gloucestershire.
My main reseach at present is on the BLAKE family of Quarhouse near Thrupp in Stroud.
It all starts with my Grt Grt Grandmother Louisa BLAKE born on the 24 June 1851 in Quarhouse to George and Adeline BLAKE nee OCKFORD. Louisa was baptised on the 31 August 1851 at Brimscombe parish church. I have followed Louisa through the censuses from 1861-1901 and have her birth, bapts, & marriage certs.I have never found a death for Louisa.
Her father George was again born in Quarhouse in 1831 to John and Elizabeth BLAKE nee UNKNOWN. He had one other brother called Henry BLAKE born in 1829.
Again I have followed George and his brother Henry through the censuses from 1841 up to 1901. George died in the March quart of 1875 aged 44 and Henry died April quart of 1903.
Their parents John died in 1874 and Elizabeth died in the Sept quart of 1886.

I would be really greatfully of any one researching any of the above families as my research is not just about a load of names and dates but I try and include as much info as poss about where they went to school etc. So do please get in touch
