| Searching for information on ancestors and siblings of my Great Grandparents. Christian Stein was born 26 Sept. 1840 in Bergdorf. His first wife was Magdalena Aldinger, who was born about 9 Feb. 1843. They married on 22 October 1862. She passed away about 17 December 1864. Her parents unknown. Christian's 2nd wife was Margaretha Schmitt (Schmidt), who was born 18 Aug. 1845 in Bergdorf. Marriage date unkown. Christian's parents were Johann Martin Stein aka Martin Stein and Johanna Wolf. It is possible that the parents of Johann Martin Stein were Christian and Anna Maria Stein Also need information on Margaretha's parents - Johann Schmitt (Schmidt) and Margaretha Overdier or Oberthuer and their children. Margaretha (Schmitt) Stein immigrated to the US and settled near Turtle Lake, North Dakota in 1905. She passed away on 5 Dec. 1914. Have been told that there is also a connection between Christian and Margaretha Stein's family to the Schott family but am unable to make a connection. Would appreciate any help with these families. Will share information. Also researching my father's family the Schock's and Ehni's born in Borodino. And the families of Mertz, Bauman, Anhorn, and Zarbuck. |
