This is the tombstone at Mertz Church of John Jacob Mertz -- b. 18 Aug 1741 son of John Henry Mertz. He and wife Catharina baptized six children at Mertz Church between 1773 and 1792. It is NOT the tombstone of John Jacob Mertz who came from Longswamp before 1790 and died in North'd County, in fact it is proof in my opinion that they were two different men entirely.
