Updated September 6, 2000

I am researching the Mercer family who were mostly from the area of Harrietta, Wexford County, Michigan. I believe my great-grandfather and his father moved to Harrietta about 1873.
With the exception of my parents I have very little information to start with. The names and dates I have are as follows:

Carlton Leon Mercer - Father (1929- )
and Alyce Grace Batema - Mother (1932- )

Carl Jasper Mercer - Grandfather (1894-1982)
and Mabel Hewitt - his wife (1893-1990)

Possible relationships of Charles Long, Mary Long (1839-1913), Lucy Long Heath (1873-1937), Rose Long, George Heath and William Hewitt to Mabel Hewitt

Clarence Jasper Mercer - Great-Grandfather (1868-1960)
and Sarah Catherine Goodar - his wife (1873-1916)
and Bertha Kusch Saxton - his 2nd wife (?-1942)

Other children of Clarence and Sarah:
Clyde Ernest Mercer, Blanche Marion Mercer Huss, Harold Leslie Mercer, Gladys Marie Mercer Kusch, Goldie Iva Mercer Olson and Henry Morgan Mercer

Morgan Darius Mercer - 2nd Great-Grandfather (1838-1922)
and Mary Louisa Robinson - his wife (1842-1933)

Other children of Morgan and Mary:
George DeWitt Mercer, Mary Estella "Stella" Mercer Stanclift, Carrie Adelaide Mercer Ogden, Charles Marion Mercer, Orson "Eddie" Mercer, Arthur Morgan Mercer, Elmer Hartley Mercer and Edna Louisa Mercer Reed

George Mercer - 3rd Great-Grandfather (1805-bef. 1850)
and Drucilla Covil - his wife (?-?)

Other children of George and Drucilla:
Mary Jane Mercer, Louisa Mercer and Druzilla Mercer

John Mercer - 4th Great-Grandfather (abt. 1759-?)
and Patience ? - his wife (1768-?)

Other children of John and Patience:
Hartley Mercer and Benjamin Mercer

Other places I have found these Mercers are:
Lapeer, Michigan - Troy, New York - Rensellaer, New York - Cheboygan, Michigan - Monettville, Ontario - Toronto, Ontario - Falkner, Ontario -

Any information on these (and any before them) will be greatly appreciated.
