      52. James Allan4 Hanes (Helena Ella3 Sarginger, Ernest Franz2, Franz (Gottlieb)1) was born January 22, 1907 in St. Marys, Elk, PA, and died December 24, 1965 in Port Charlotte, FL. He married (1) Helen Roher 1929, daughter of Frank Roher and Katherine Adams. She was born June 14, 1908 in Salladsburg, PA, and died November 05, 1943 in St. Marys, Elk, PA. He married (2) Rita Mae Roberts June 1944. She was born May 23, 1921 in England.

State Street Woman Passed Away Today.

Mrs. J. Allan Hanes Ill Since March, Died This Morning.

Mrs. J. Allan Hanes, the former Helen Roher, died at 10:20 this morning at her home, 210 State Street, after being in ill health since March last. Her condition had been critical since Sunday and she was in a coma two days before death came peacefully this morning.

Funeral services will be held from the family residence Monday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be made in the Presbyterian Cemetery.

Rev. T. F. Ripple of the First Methodist Church will be the officiating clergyman.

Mrs. Hanes was born in Salladsburg, PA, June 14, 1908, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. F. W. Roher. Her father at one time was pastor of the First Methodist Church in St. Marys, and the family lived here for a few years.

She had made her home here continuously since 1929 following her marriage to Mr. Hanes.

The deceased is survived by her husband, one daughter, Linda, and two sons, James and David.

Her mother is still living in Montoursville. Her father having passed away some little time ago.

Two sisters also survive. They are Miss Sarah Roher of Montoursville; Miss Edith Roher of Laurelton, PA.

Mrs. J. Allan Hanes Buried Monday

Funeral services for the late Mrs. J. Allan Hanes were held from the family home on State Street yesterday afternoon by Rev. T. F. Ripple, pastor of the First Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hanes passed away Saturday morning afer being in failing health the past several months.

Burial was made in the Presbyterian cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers: H. W. McCullough, E. W. Bucher, A. J. McQuone, Urban Herzing, M. M. Francis, and Roy Kronenwetter.

The following out of town relatives and friends attended the last rites:

Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hanes, Miss Dorothy Hanes, Mrs. Ralph Dieter and children, Robert and Shirley, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Flaherty and daughter, Anne, Mr. and Mrs. Urban Hanes of Bradford.

Former Local Girl Married

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Betty Grace Hanes, of Philadelphia, former St. Marys resident, to Menzie McKim, son of Mr. and Mrs. Menzie McKim of Baker, Oregon. The ceremony was performed Saturday, May 6, at the Calvary Presbyterian church manse, Upper Darby, PA, by Rev. Howard L. Frame, pastor. The bride wore a paster pink street length dress with brown accessories and carried a bouquet of white roses and lillies of the valley. Miss Lois Davis, the maid of honor and classmate of the bride, chose a navy blue street length dress trimmed with white. Her bouquet was yellow roses and small pompoms.

Donald Watkins, a fraternity brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Other attendants were Miss Jeanne Creswell and Joseph Zukowsky, of Philadelphia.

The bride is a daughter of James Hanes, now a resident of Bradford.

The bride is a graduate of Bradford High School, class of 1938, and the Jefferson Medical College Hospital School of Nursing, 1943.

Mr. McKim is a graduate of the University of Oregon and is a member of the U. S. Medical Corps, studying at Jefferson Medical College.

The couple will reside in Philadelphia until the groom completes his internship.

      56. Jean Helen4 Hanes (Helena Ella3 Sarginger, Ernest Franz2, Franz (Gottlieb)1) was born December 21, 1923 in St. Marys, Elk, PA. She married (1) Theodore Winfield Ashbey June 12, 1946, son of Dwight Ashbey and Emma Alteneder. He was born April 29, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, and died December 08, 1984 in Boise, ID. She married (2) Nicholas Alexander Hall December 14, 1987 in Reno, NV.

Notes for Theodore Winfield Ashbey:
Ted was a management engineer for Mountain Bell in Idaho. He served four years in the US Navy during WW II. He attended Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, and graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1948.

Prior to working in Idaho, he was employed by Pacific Telephone Co., in San Jose, California.

      57. Albert John4 Sarginger (Edward E.3, Ernest Franz2, Franz (Gottlieb)1) was born November 28, 1919 in St. Marys, Elk, Pennsylvania, and died August 13, 1996 in St. Marys, Elk, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret R. Seelye June 24, 1942 in Sacred Heart Church, St. Marys, Elk, PA. She was born March 08, 1920 in St. Marys, Elk, PA, and died April 27, 1982 in St. Marys, Elk, PA.

Albert J. Sarginger, 76, of 1123 East Eschbach Road and a resident of Pinecrest Manor died Tuesday at Pinecrest after a lengthy illness.

He was born November 28, 1919 in St. Marys, the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Kugler Sarginger. On June 24, 1942 in Sacred Heart Church, he married Margaret R. Seelye, who peceded him in death on April 27, 1982.

He is survived by six daughters, Judy, Mrs. William Chamberlin, Kersey, Nancie, Mrs. David Anderson, Johnsonburg, Debra Zuchowski, Ridgway, Gloria Sarginger, St. Marys, Dorothy, Mrs. James Harkenrider, Beaver Dam, NY, and JoAnn, Mrs. Kevin Winslow, Paris, Texas; a son, David R. Sarginger, Ridgway; 18 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Wegemer and Isabel, Mrs. George Rettger, both of St. Marys; and a brother, Melvin Sarginger, also of St. Marys.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Sarginger, on February 26, 1962.

Mr. Sarginger was a lifelong resident of the area, attending St. Marys schools. He was the retired owner of Sarginger Tractor Equipment since 1953, and prior to that operated an auto repair business from 1942 to 1952.

He was a member of the Bells of St. Marys, the St. Marys Grange and Queen of the World Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Albert J. Sarginger will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in Queen of the World Church with the Rev. Thaddeus Rettger, O. S. B., nephew of the deceased, and the Rev. Mark Anderson as con celebrants. Interment will follow in the St. Marys Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Community Nurses of Elk & Cameron Counties or to the Ridgway Community Nurses.

Mrs. M. Sarginger Died Tuesday At Local Hospital

Mass Thursday for resident of East Eschbach Road

Mrs. Margaret R. Sarginger, 62, of East Eschbach Road, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at the Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 8, 1920 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Robert and Ottilia Spellendburg Seelye. Her husband, Albert J. Sarginger, whom she married June 24, 1942 in Sacred Heart Church, survives.

Besides her husband she is survived by six daughters, Judy, Mrs. William Chamberlin; Debra, Mrs. Raymond Zuchowski, both of Kersey; Nancy, Mrs. David Anderson, of Johnsonburg; Joann, Mrs. Kevin Winslow; Dorothy Smith, both of St. Marys; Gloria, at home; a son, David R., of Ridgway; a sister, Mrs. Rose Prechtl, of St. Marys; two brothers, Charles Seelye, of Alpena, Mich.; Edward Seelye, of St. Marys; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Margaret Sarginger, on February 26, 1962, a sister, Mrs. Agnes Krug, and two brothers, Clarence and Henry Seelye.

Mrs. Sarginger, a life-long resident of St. Marys, attended local schools and was a member of the Bells of St. Marys, the Forest Area Crafts Association and was active as a 4-H leader for many years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in Queen of the World Church with interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Relatives and friends will be received at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Funeral Mass Was Held Thursday for Margaret Sarginger

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in the Queen of the World Church for the late Mrs. Margaret R Sarginger. The East Eschbach Road woman passed away Tuesday afternoon at the local hospital.

Rev. Father Thaddeus, O. S. B. was mass celebrant.

Interments followed in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dick Fritz, Walter Oknefski, Bud Horner, Karl Wegemer, Jerry and Emmeran Rettger.

Relatives and friends were in attendance from Alpena, Mich.; Ridgway, Kersey, Johnsonburg, Bradford, and Mt. Jewett, Pa.

Marriage Notes for Albert Sarginger and Margaret Seelye:
Albert "Al" and Margaret "Margie" lived most of their married life on East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, where they operated the "Sarginger Tractor and Implement Co." Al is a Ford Tractor dealer.

Through the years Margie was involved in many crafts, including working on her spinning wheel. Both Al and Margie were members of the Bucktail Trailer Club and of the Bells of St. Marys, a square dance group.

SACRED HEART CHURCH SCENE OF WEDDING

Margaret Seelye, Albert Sarginger Wed at Pretty Nuptial Rites This Morning

At a pretty wedding ceremony in Sacred Heart church this morning Miss Margaret Seelye, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Seelye, of Vine Road, became the bride of Albert Sarginger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sarginger of Bucktail Trail. Rev. Father Henry officiated at the eight o'clock nuptial high mass and performed the ceremony.

The bride was becomingly attired in a white satin gown and a full length veil which fell in graceful folds from a tiara. She carried a white satin muff on which was mounted a corsage of white roses and baby breath tied with streamers of blue and white.

The maid of honor, Miss Isabel Sarginger, sister of the groom, made an attractive appearance in a gown of pink chiffon and had a bouquet of tea roses. The bridesmaids, Miss Dorothy Grasser and Miss Margaret Prechtl, wore organza gowns of yellow and pink respectively, and each carried a bouquet of tea roses and baby breath.

Miss Patty Krug, niece of teh bride, was a flower girl and was dressed in pink taffeta.

Charles Seelye, brother of the bride, served as best man. Ushers were David Harlan and Clarence Seelye.

After the ceremony, wedding festivities were held at the home of the bride's parents and were attended by immediate relatives and friends.

The young couple will take a bridal trip to Buffalo, Detroit and Erie, after which they will take up residence on Fourth Street, this city.

Both the bride and groom attended local schools, the former being a graduate of Central Catholic high school and the latter graduating from St. Marys Public high school. Mr. Sarginger is now employed at the Elk Motor Sales Company.

Out of town guests at the wedding included Mrs. Anna Krug, of Pittsburgh, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bish of Brockway.

Albert Sargingers Honored On Saturday

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sarginger of East Eschbach Road, celebrated their silver wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 24, by attending eight o'clock mass in the Queen of the World Church in their honor, at which time they renewed their marriage vows.

Rev. Father Columban Bonkamp was the mass celebrant. Those members of the original wedding party able to attend were Mrs. George Rettger, Mrs. Walter Zatawaski and Mrs. Carl Lang.

Mr. and Mrs. Sarginger are the parents of six girls: Joann, Dorothy, Gloria, Debra, Nancy at home, Judy, Mrs. William Chamberlain of St. Marys and one son, David of Ridgway.

They have three grandchildren.

Following the church services there was a breakfast at their home. It was prepared by Mrs. James Chamberlain. A barbecue prepared by Elmer Grunthaner, Ray Brendel, Earl Buchheit, and Milton Schatz for 75 guests was held at their home at one o'clock.

Friends and relatives were in attendance from Mt. Jewett, Johnsonburg, Ridgway, Kan, Emporium, Coudersport, Kersey and St. Marys.

Eschbach Rd. Girl Dies in Bradford

Margaret Sarginger, Ill Short Time, Passed Away Monday

Margaret L. Sarginger, 12-year old daughter of Albert and Margaret Seelye Sarginger, Eschbach Road, died shortly before 1:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the Bradford Hospital. Death was believed due to complications that followed an attach of flu.

Funeral mass for the seventh-grade student at Queen of the World Shool will be held in that parish church Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Joseph W. Lynch Funeral Home, Washington Street, 7:00 to 9:00 tonight; 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 Wednesday.

The young girl was born in St. Marys March 27, 1949. She is survived by her parents, one brother, David, and the following sisters; Judith, Nancy, Deborah, Dorthy, and Gloria, all at home, as well as, her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sarginger of St. Marys.

School Girl Rites Held This Morning At Queen Of World

Requiem high mass was celebrated at nine o'clock this morning in Queen of the World Church for late Margaret Sarginger, 12, of Eschbach Road. The seventh grade pupil passed away Monday afternoon at Bradford Hospital.

Rev. Father Flavian, pastor, was mass celebrant. Father Martin, assistant pastor, was in the sanctuary.

The pallbearers were; Andrew Wegemer, Robert Rettger and Kenneth Galmish, cousins; Raymond Blair, James Christoff and Donald Rollick, classmates.

The servers at the mass, also classmates of the deceased, were Michael Belsole Jr., Gerald Riddle, Michael Gahr, and Ronald Meyer.

The girls' choir of seventh and eighth grades, sang the funeral mass.

Interment followed in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Relatives and friends were in attendance from Coudersport, Ridgway, Wilcox, Kersey, and Toby.
