I am researching the Mertz-Hollingsworth and O'Brien-Overbeck, Family Trees. John Archibald Mertz came from Pennslyvania, Born 1801 in Middleburg in what was then Union County. He met and Married Sarah Harmony. They then moved to Auglaize County, OH., Then on to Grundy Center, IA. (and the surrounding area as thier family grew) I have very little information on the Hollingsworth's other than Helen Hollingworth (My Paternal Grandmother) was born in Marshalltown, IA. Her parents names were Cyrus Jordan Hollingsworth and Carrie Mae Moler. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Bernard Overbeck came from Hanover, Germany via Pittsburg, PA, Cincinnatti, OH then St. Cloud, MN. Bernard Overbeck owned and operated the Minnesota House Hotel in St. Cloud, MN. Edward O'Brien came from County Cork, Ireland. Edward O'Brien owned and operated the Riverside Hotel in East St. Cloud, MN. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Other main surnames involved are Lynch, Dillon, Dierks (or Dirkes or Dirkis), Harmony, Klingaman, and Carr. 3/26/07 - Updated!! Finally. Added the Mertz Coat of Arms and a combined family history. I am aware of some duplicated individuals and am working on them. This new version of FTM isn't as easy as the old one.
