| I am the official family historian for the descendants of Christian Sargent Messer of Haywood County, NC. He is believed to be the son of Captain Robert Messer who was hung at Hillsbourough, NC, on June, 1771. This wasthe aftermath of the "Battle of Alamance" [also known as The War of Regulation], which took place on May 16, 1771. In addition to the "Messer" family, I am also reaserching the following allied families: Parton, Russell, Warren, Hooker, Bennett, Noland, Gilliland, Bowman, Hoilman, Howell, Boswell, Johnson, and Loudy/Lowdermilk. I would love to hear from others who are researching these family names and are willing to exchange information. |
