Hello fellow researchers!! I am searching for information on my great great grandparents: Daniel R. THOMAS, born about 1802 in Union Co., South Carolina, died in Jan. 22, 1880 Umatilla, Lake Co., Florida. He married, Nancy Ann JOHNSON b. abt. 1811 North Carolina, died in the early 1850's. They moved to Irwin Co. Georgia and then to Florida where Nancy died shortly after arriving in Florida. Daniel is buried in Higley Cemetery, Higley Florida. On his headstone it reads "DANUEL R. THOMAS". I am not having any luck at finding his parents or siblings. There is rumor in the family that both Nancy's (William Johnson) and Daniel's fathers were both COL. in the military (probably Revolution). However, this is speculation and folklore. I have been unable to prove this, nor find any information on any of their families. These are Daniel and Nancy's children and spouses: William1832m. Mary Ann Permelia Ward Amanda1835m. 1 David Bass, 2 Allen Fort James Madison1836m. Anna Driggers Robert W.1839m. Ellen Livingston *John Tyler1843m. Nancy Ann Loucinda Ward Benjamin F. Daniel R. Jr.1845m. Lydia Ann E. Gandy David Johnson1848m. 1 Mollie Echols, 2 Mary Annie E. Holton Mary Catherine 1851m. Richard Baxter Ervin The first two being born in Union Co., SC all the rest were born in Irwin Co., Georgia, except for Mary Catherine who was born in Thomas Co., Georgia during the move to Florida. They migrated to Central Florida in the early 1850's. From then on I have a lot of info, But have been unable to find anything on their parents or siblings, except that Nancy had a brother in-law named R.C. Jeter and a brother named Harmon or Herman. Any information or possible leads would be greatly appreciated! all replies send to:[email protected]
