1. GEORGE¹ COLTON was born Bet. 1610 - 1620 in Sutton Coldfield, County or Warwick, England, and died February 13, 1698/99 in Suffield, Mass. He married (1) DEBORAH GARDNER 1644 in Springfield, Mass, daughter of THOMAS GARDNER and MARGARET FRYER. She was born in Hartford, Conn, and died September 05, 1689 in Springfield, Mass. He married (2) LYDIA WRIGHT March 01, 1691/92 in Springfield, Mass, daughter of SAMUEL WRIGHT. She died December 17, 1699.

George COLTON - b. Sutton Coldfield, Wiltshire, England; d. Dec. 17, 1699, Longmeadow, MA. Supposedly came from Sutancofield, Warwick, England. Settled first at Windsor, CT, then by 1646 at Springfield (Longmeadow), MA. Freeman 1665; grantee of Suffield 1670; quartermaster 1669. Married first by 1646, probably at Windsor or Hartford, CT; and second Mar. 1, 1692 Lydia WRIGHT (d. Feb. 13, 1699), daughter of Dea. Samuel WRIGHT, and widow of John LAMB, John NORTON, and Lawrence BLISS.

Deborah GARDNER - d. Sep. 5, 1689, Longmeadow, MA. She lived at Hartford, CT at time of marriage

George Colton was Quartermaster of the Hampshire Troop of
Cavalry in 1668;
Ensign of the Springfield train band 1681, and Lieutenant 1688.
He was Deputy
1669, 1670 and 1671, Selectman many years, etc.
