|Henry Matthew Savage is where our search begins. He was born about 1902 in Missouri and married our mother February 16th in 1924.
When my mother was young they divorced.
He worked for a time as a stenographer for the Spokesman Review. Due to a fire records were lost. He may have remarried a woman named Jean and was living in Whichita, Texas. Which is what the 1930 census had said.
There are 3 of us. 2 Sisters and 1 brother. We got into our family tree due to our mother who peaked our interest with trying to find her "real father" before she died of Cancer.
I have a VERY good freind "Gwen" whom I thank most appreciatively, and her freind who took the time to help me find him, and also charted some of my family history. God Bless them both.
And we continue the search on our family roots. Our father passed and in doing so The "family history" as far as most pictures, and newpapers clippings and such were lost. His wife at the time considered them "her" property, and in trying to gain possesion of them proved futile. In the state of Ore. The wife possess's all. And non of her kids were related as all of us were grown and out of the house for years.
So now everything is gone. our home movies of us kids rodeoing, pictures, family get togethers etc.. all gone. And this has been some years passed, and a very long story which is old news now. It is sad we cannot pass these on to our children.
So now we forge on. Stronger for the knowledge we gained from it. And even more determined to trace things as far back as we can.
My Grand father is Claude Forsythe. And some where along the line as the story goes someone got mad at their father and added the "e" onto the end of our name. MY G.Grandfathers name is James Forsythe who married Susan Bruce also from Georgia. And that is as far as I have gotten in the Forsythe line. And our search continues.
