Mr. Delmore L. (Del) Wegener, age 71, husband of Mrs. Mary O. Wegener, brother of Miss Agnes Wegener, William G. and Ralph J. Wegener, funeral Friday, Oct. 29, 1981, 10:00 A.M. at the Shirley Bros. Del served in thepaymasters office in London during WWII.He told Pam he was there during the blitz, locked in some underground vault-type room with millions of dollars waiting to be distributed to the soldiers on the entire European front. As he told the story, it seemed a fond memory. He did say once he laid behind some sort of hedge-bunker type thing for 'several hours during a bomb black out period and was very scared and felt very vulnerable. He commented that being outside a building at least avoided the probability of being hurt if the building collapsed, but he said he liked being outside much less than in his work room.
He worked at Rough Notes Publishing Co. as Personnel Director.
Sharon worked for Del in 1956 (summer-filing), 1957 (summer-filing), 1958 permanently (secretary) eventually taking over Ms. Smith's position under Del.
worked under ______ Smith, sister (?)of Irma Smith (Fletcher Williams' daughter?)
Ralph said Del didn't have a middle name, but just started using L. for some reason.???
