The Peter Nicholas Meyer family tree contains an extensive database of this family that emigrated from Canton Bern, Switzerland to NE Indiana in 1839.

The Meyer's were one of the original three families to settle in what became Vera Cruz, IN, on the border of Adams and Wells County.

Peter Nicholas Meyer (born 3/3/1795) married Margaretha Miller (born 7/16/1800). Their children were Abraham, John, Christian, Peter, David, Frederick, Elizabeth and Daniel. Peter Nicholas Meyer's father was Niklaus Meyer and his mother was Barbara Straubhar.

They originated in a village in the Jura Mountains of Canton Bern, called Corgémont. Corgémont is not far from the border with France and actually a French-speaking village.

Some of the surnames included in the database are: Moser, Miller, Rich, Baumgartner and Saurer.
