I hope you enjoy and have an opportunity to review the family history I have compiled. This was fun to research and will continue to be updated as I find more information.

In my Dad's family (Emmett -aka Jack), there is quite a bit of information regarding his mother's line - Wanty acquired through a privately published history - Genealogical Memoranda related to the Hugeuenot Family DE VANTIER, anglais WANTY - by Henry Peet, FSA. The Bissell line is very short, ending with definite information with George Bissell. 1860 Census records lean towards the father of George being Lester and possible grandmother Lucy. I cannot find the 1851 Ontario Census records of this family to confirm Lester as father and who the mother was.

In Mom's family, again information is available quite a few generations regarding the Coopers but nothing much on the Thurstons. Family stories tell us that Nathaniel Thurston came from England as a young boy but I find no record of the travel. He had brothers and family who had come over earlier but I find no records. He married Maria in New York and had two children. (1860 New York Census) Maria probably died then he married Emily Walrath in 1869. Nathaniel died after 13 years and 5 children. Emily was unable to care for the children and they were spread around or adopted, again according to family story.
