John Hillier was buried in St. Mary's cemetery, Lamaline, on June 11, 1863, by Rev. A.E. Gabriel. His wife Deborah followed twelve years later. Their graves are located "...near the fence by the street in the area where the first church of St. Mary the Virgin was built... on the east side of the cemetery.
