Micara 37 North Jefferson Avenue Lindenhurst,NY 11757 516-884-6419 Fax: 516-884-4028 | I am researching the MICARA and/or MICARI family name from the New York area.The information I have dates back to 1868 when Francesco Micari was born.Francesco married Carmela Oliva on January 16, 1897.At some point the last name was changed from Micari to Micara, probably due to an error upon entering the United States.Francesco and Carmela had 10 children, Santa, Anthony, Rosario(Sam), Peter, Vincenzo(Jimmy), Flavia(Florence), Rose, Eleanor, Frances and Josephine. Francesco also had a brother Stephano.I am told they live somewhere on eastern Long Island, NY. I believe Stephano's descendants still use Micari. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated. |
