Find Family
There are over 18,000 individuals in our database, originating in Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, and France. Many of our French-Canadian ancestors from Papineauville and Rigaud later settled in Michigan. The SALGAT line is the Swiss connection, immigrating from Movelier/Jura SW to MI in the 1850's. The Irish and Scottish families immigrated from Perth, Cornwall, and Norwich Ontario to Michigan in the 1870's. The MCDONELL line also has strong connections in Oregon and Washington. The MILLER and LAFFOON families traveled from Virgina to Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia in the late 1700's. The SOMERVILLES immigrated from Scotland in the early 1800's to Pennsylvania and then to Michigan in the 1850's. The SHOOK/CHASE family from Oneida and Ontario County NY also moved to MI in the 1850's. We know the least about the MUECKE/MICKEY family who came from Silesia,Prussia about 1870.
Our surname list has now exceeded the allotted space on this server and had to be removed. Our primary French surnames include RIVARD, PERILLARD, SAUVE, SEGUIN, CHARBONNEAU, AND CHARTRAND.
There is now a new homepage for the RIVARD Family at
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/1865/index.htm

We're always looking for "lost cousins" and would love to hear from you.
