Wight, 85, died sept. 9, 2000, at home in Puyallup. Mr. Wight was born Jan. 4, 1915, in Vina, Calif., and grew up in Gig Harbor. He lived in Vancouver from 1963 to 1971. He was a carpenter superintendent at many of the major dams built in the Pacific Northwest. Survivors include his wife, Eunice, at home; two daughters, Alice Fountain and Patricia Covington; two sons, Alfred Wight and Stephen Wight; three sisters, Monvilla Severtsen, Alice Bentley and Edith Wight; one brother, Ernest Wight; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His first wife of 51 years, Genevieve, preceded him in death. Mr. Wight was a charter member of the Sportsman Club and active with the Eagles and Elks lodges. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 4009 Ninth Ave. S.W., Puyallup, WA 98373.
