Johann Alert COHRS and Maria Hendrika BOSVELT lived in Utrecht, Netherlands. They had ten children which included my grandmother. My grandmother came to Canada in 1948 to join her sister, a WWII war bride.
I've been researching my grandmother's family and would love to hear from anyone related to our family tree. My e-mail address is listed below.
Please look around and enjoy!

Thank you to J. Rijken for the following English/Dutch translation:
Johann Alert Cohrs en Maria Hendrika Bosveld woonden in Urecht, Nederland. Ze hadden tien kinderen, waaronder mijn grootmoeder. In 1948 kwam mijn grootmoeder naar Canada. Haar zus, een oorlogsbruid, was toen al hier.
Ik heb onderzoek gedaan naar mijn grootmoeder’s familie en zou heel graag horen of er nog meer verwanten zijn. Mijn e-mail adres staat hieronder.
Neem eens een kijkje op deze website. Veel plezier!

- Albert Jan Bosvelt & Heintje Spekking (15 KB)
Albert & Heintje lived in Arnhem, Gelderland, Netherlands. They had at least 10 children. Their daughter, Maria Hendrika Bosvelt was my great-grandmother.
- Bernard Hendrik Cohrs & Maria Cornelia Mensink (22 KB)
Bernard & Maria lived in Utrecht, Netherlands. They had at least 14 children, but 11 died at birth or in childhood. I've only found two sons and one daughter that had lived into adulthood and had families. Their son, Johann Alert Cohrs was my great-grandfather.
I was unable to find any record of marriage for Bernard & Maria. It was probably around 1895 and could of been in the Utrecht or Apeldoorn, Gelderland areas.
- Maria Hendrika Bosvelt & Johann Alert Cohrs (19 KB)
Maria & Johann lived in Utrecht. Johann worked at the Phillips Factory as a machinist. He was also a jewelry and clock maker.

- War Time Meal - WWII (577 KB)
My grandmother and some of her siblings (center of photo) were treated to a meal by the soldiers. They felt like kings and queens to have such food available. It was the first time in a long time that kids left food on their plates.
