Daniel M. Warner

Daniel M. Warner, 78, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Seven Valleys RD 2, died at 9:25 p.m. Friday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Warner had retired after 30 years of employment with the former AMF-Inc., Glen Rock.
He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lakeland, and a former member of Zion (Shaffer's) United Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys RD 1.
He had been a resident of Lakeland for the past 11 years.
Born in Springfield Township, he was a son of the late Rufus and Cora (Rohrbaugh) Warner.
He was the husband of the late Leona (Sheffer) Warner.
He leaves his second wife, Katie (Trimmer) Warner; two daughters, Doris E. Forry, Seven Valleys RD 2, and Donna J. LeCrone, Mount Wolf; two sons, Larry E. Warner, York, and Terry L. Warner, Glen Rock RD 2; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel M. Warner Jr.
Viewing is to be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the J. J. Hartenstein Mortuary, 24 Second St., New Freedom. The service is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the mortuary with the Rev. Austin L. Chinault II, pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Stoverstown, officiating. Burial will be in Zion (Shaffer's) Church Cemetery.

SHREWSBURY - Katie V. (Trimmer) Warner, 96, passed away at 10:06 a.m. Monday at Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of Walter Snyder, Arthur Lentz, Sr., and Daniel Warner, Sr., all deceased.
She was born January 13, 1907, in North Codorus Township to the late James M. and Rebecca A. (Fishel) Trimmer.
Mrs. Warner was employed as a seamstress at Seven Valleys Garment Company. She and her husband Arthur owned the Central Bowling Lanes in York.
She is survived by three step sons, Larry Warner, Terry Warner of Glen Rock, Arthur Lentz, Jr., York; four step daughters, Doris Forry of Glen Rock, Dorothy Strickler and Lorraine (Sue) Zimmerman, both of York, Mildred Collins of Littlestown; 26 step grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; and two nieces in Florida.
The funeral service will be Friday, November 28, 2003, at 1 p.m. from the Robert M. Goodling Funeral Home, 62 Main St., Seven Valleys. There will be a viewing from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Final resting place will be in Shaffer's Union Cemetery, Seven Valleys.

Mary L. Warner, 67, formerly of Bentley Springs, Md., Shrewsbury, and Lakeland, Fla., died Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at her home. She was the wife of the late Daniel M. Warner, Jr.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bentley Springs United Methodist Church, 419 Bentley Road, Parkton, Md., with her pastor, the Rev. Rob Abell, officiating.
Born March 12, 1938, in Bentley Springs, Md., she was the daughter of the late John W. and Roberta A. M. (Wilson) Herbert.
Mrs. Warner was a 1956 graduate of Hereford High School in Maryland. She co-owned and operated, along with her husband, the former DaMarts Restaurant in Glen Rock. She also worked at Morrison's Cafeteria, Orlando, Fla., where she was a former Employee of the Month. Mary was a member of Bentley Springs United Methodist Church in Parkton, Md. She was dedicated to her family.
Surviving are her children, Timothy M. Warner and his wife, Noreen of Oswego, N.Y., Mark E. Warner and his wife, Sheila of Orlando, Fla., and Roberta A. Noel of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren, Amanda Warner, Josh Warner, David Stine, Dusty Stine, and Rachael Bryan; five great-grandchildren; siblings, C. Daniel Herbert, John Milton Herbert, Samuel Wilson Herbert, R. Lorraine Davis, and Doris R. Gracey; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, James F. Herbert, William L. Herbert, Nancy Herbert, and Leona Turnbaugh.

MOUNT WOLF - Donna W. Lecrone, 49, of Blossom Drive, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at York Hospital. She was the wife of Michael H. Lecrone Sr.
A memorial service will be held at a future date. There will be no viewing. The J. J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lecrone was born in York. She was the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Leona P. (Sheffer) Warner.
She was a 1961 graduate of Susquehannock High School.
Mrs. Lecrone also is survived by two daughters, Catherine P. Youkers of Spring Grove, and Sgt. Rebecca E. Rhea, U.S. Air Force, Tacoma, Wash.; two sons, Michael H. Lecrone Jr. and Matthew D. Lecrone, both of Mount Wolf; seven grandchildren; a sister, Doris E. Forry of Glen Rock RD 2; and two brothers, Larry E. Warner of Mount Wolf, and Terry L. Warner of Glen Rock RD 2.

GLEN ROCK - Mrs. Laura (Shaffer) Heathcote, 79, wife of Lloyd B. Heathcote, 137 Main St., died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital, York.
Born in York County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Mary (Glatfelter) Shaffer.
She was a member of Zion (Shaffer's) Lutheran Congregation, near Seven Valleys, and had resided in Glen Rock for the last 47 years. She had been in ill health for some time and was hospitalized the last two weeks.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Carroll L. Heathcote, 1627 Eton Way, Crofton, Md.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and five brothers and sisters, Oscar Shaffer, Seven Valleys; Mrs. Anna Sterner and Paul Shaffer, both of Spring Grove; Stewart Shaffer, Glen Rock, and Mrs. Florence Burns, Jefferson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock, with the Rev. Karl Fetterman, pastor of Glen Rock United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. No viewing Sunday evening. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Lloyd B. Heathcote, 83, of 137 Main St., Glen Rock, widower of Laura (Shaffer) Heathcote, died Friday at his home.
Mr. Heathcote was a lifelong resident of the Glen Rock area. He was a native York Countian, retiring in 1962 as a foreman in the machine shop of American Machine and Foundry Co., Glen Rock.
He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Co. and Glen Rock Firemen's Relief Association.
Surviving are a son, Carroll L. Heathcote, Crofton, Md.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a half brother, Paul Lehman, Glen Rock.
His pastor, the Rev. Clarence L. Chubb, will officiate at the funeral Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock. Burial will be in Glen Rock Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.

SEVEN VALLEYS - Oscar U. Shaffer, 85, of 86 Church St., who was a dealer in raw furs most of his lifetime, died at 2 p.m. Monday at his home. He was the husband of Mary (Aldinger) Shaffer.
The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Robert M. Goodling Funeral Home, 62 Main St. Burial will be in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery, York New Salem. Viewing will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Shaffer was born at Larue, the son of the late Howard and Mary (Glatfelter) Shaffer.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had served as a former assessor for Seven Valleys Borough and as a sub mail carrier for Seven Valleys RD 1. His memberships included the Seven Valleys Fire Company and the Tri-Community Ambulance Club.
Mr. Shaffer also is survived by a daughter, Sandra Shaffer Hershey, York RD 10; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Anna Sterner, of Rest Haven-York, and Florence Burns, 25 York St., Jefferson, and two brothers, Stewart Shaffer, 134 Church St., Glen Rock, and Paul A. Shaffer, 3 N. Main St., Spring Grove.
The Rev. Luther G. Heist, pastor of St. Jacob's United Church of Christ, York New Salem, will conduct the service.

YORK NEW SALEM - Mary Jane Shaffer, 99, formerly of Seven Valleys, died at 6 a.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter in York New Salem. She was the wife of Oscar U. Shaffer, who died in July 1984.
The service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Robert M. Goodling Funeral Service, 62 Main St., Seven Valleys. Burial will be in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery in York New Salem. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shaffer was born Oct. 13, 1899, in Brillhart Station. She was the daughter of the late William and Nancy (Beck) Aldinger.
She was a seamstress at Maryem Leifer of York for 10 years and also worked at AMP in Shrewsbury. She was the oldest member of St. Jacob's United Church of Christ in York New Salem and member of Seven Valleys Fire Company Auxiliary.
Mrs. Shaffer is survived by a daughter, Sandra F. Hershey of York; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Viola L. Aldinger of York.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Curtis E. Whitman.
