Curtis E. Gladfelter, 74, Brodbecks RD 1, died Saturday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Micleta (Bortner) Gladfelter.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Geiple Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Glen Rock, with burial in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. The viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Born in Brodbecks, he was a son of the late C. Luther and Laura (Kessler) Gladfelter.
Mr. Gladfelter was a member of the Lutheran Congregation and Men's Bible Class of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, Jefferson Fire Co., and Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Company.
He was a retired woodworker at the former Dutterer's Planeing Mill, Hanover.
Surviving also are three children, R. Laverne Gladfelter, Glen Rock; Philip E. Gladfelter, York; and Miss Nadine E. Gladfelter, Leola; two grandchildren; a brother, Daniel Gladfelter, Glen Rock RD 3; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Kornbau, Red Lion RD 2; and a stepbrother, William A. Garrett, Spring Grove.
His pastor, the Rev. Richard C. Weaver, will officiate.

Micleta A. Gladfelter, 86, of Glenville RD 2, died at 4:26 a.m. yesterday at York Lutheran Retirement Village. She was the wife of the late Curtis E. Gladfelter.
Mrs. Gladfelter was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Jacob's (Stone) Lutheran Church, Glenville, where she was a member of its Sunday school, Ladies Group and Community Club.
Born in Codorus Township, May 15, 1911, she was a daughter of the late J. Elvin and Alice E. (Leicht) Bortner.
She leaves a daughter, Nadine E. Gladfelter, Leola, Lancaster County; two sons, R. Laverne Gladfelter, Glen Rock, and Philip E. Gladfelter, York; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Adela Miller, Glenville, and Ortha Parrish, York.
A son, C. Lowell Gladfelter, is deceased.
Viewing is from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. The service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Richard C. Weaver, officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Daniel E. Gladfelter

GLEN ROCK -- Daniel E. Gladfelter, 86, of Glen Rock RR 4, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Eva C. (Bortner) Gladfelter. The couple observed their 64th wedding anniversary July 2.
The service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Burial will be in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery, Glenville RR 2. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gladfelter was born June 6, 1910, in Codorus Township. He was the son of the late C. Luther and Laura (Kessler) Gladfelter.
He was a package handler for AMP Inc. in Jacobus, retiring in 1975 after 33 years of service. He was a member of Lutheran congregation of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church and its Sunday School, Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Company and American Association of Retired Persons. He was a former member of the Brodbecks Band, where he played the snare drum for more than 60 years beginning at age 12.
Mr. Gladfelter also is survived by two sons, Dale E. Gladfelter of York and Donald L. Gladfelter of Glen Rock RR 1; a daughter, Rosaleen M. Amspacher of Glen Rock RR 3; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jennie Kornbau of Red Lion; and a foster brother, William Garrett of Spring Grove.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Richard C. Weaver.

Jennie R. (Gladfelter) Kornbau, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 21, 2006, at her son's home, where she resided. She was the wife of the late Earl W. Kornbau, to whom she was married for 63 years.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Steve Kornbau officiating. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kornbau was born December 16, 1918, in Codorus Twp. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Laura (Kessler) Gladfelter.
Mrs. Kornbau is survived by five daughters, Yvonne Kling of York, Louise Saltzgaver of Seven Valleys, Ellen Keeports of York, Linda Keeports of Red Lion, and Joann Beaver of Red Lion; four sons, Ray Kornbau of France, Roy Kornbau of York, Ervin Kornbau of York, and Gerald Kornbau of Red Lion; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a foster brother, William Garrett. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Curtis, and Daniel Gladfelter; one foster brother, Wilbur Garrett; and one grandson.

RED LION - Earl W. Kornbau, 88, of Red Lion, died at 11:25 a.m. Sunday at his home. He was the husband of Jennie R. (Gladfelter) Kornbau, to whom he was married for 62 years.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion. Burial will be private. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York.
Mr. Kornbau was born Nov. 15, 1912, in York Township. He was the son of the late John and Laura (Aldinger) Kornbau.
He retired from Williams Tool Co., where he was a machinist; prior to that, he worked at John Motter Printing Co. and N.O.P. He attended Red Lion Bible Church.
Mr. Kornbau also is survived by four sons, Ray E. Kornbau of France, Roy E. Kornbau and Ervin A. Kornbau, both of York, and Gerald E. Kornbau of Thurmont, Md.; five daughters, Yvonne E. Kling and Ellen J. Keeports, both of York, Louise E. Saltzgaver of Seven Valleys, and Linda A. Keeports and Joann M. Beaver, both of Red Lion; 25 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Ronald Schmuck.

The service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Home Inc., 145 E. Broadway, Red Lion. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St. John's (Sadlers) Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Gladfelter was born in Glen Rock, the son of the late Horace and Minnie (Bollinger) Gladfelter.
He was a woodworker for York International.
Surviving are two daughters, Dorcas M. Rittenhouse, York, and Janet L. Stine, Red Lion; a brother, Raymond Glatfelter, Glen Rock; five half-sisters, Alleine Smith, Hanover; Marian Ambrosius, Glenville; Betty Taylor, Glen Rock; Gladys Allison, Glen Rock, and Ruth Eltz, Hanover; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
